knitter-switch will use electronica 2008 to show a lot of new products. A regular exhibitor at the World’s largest electronics exhibition, knitter-switch has also timed the launch of its latest product catalog to coincide with the show and visitors to the company’s booth will be the first to get their copy.

The new 2009 catalogue contains many new products, a new section devoted to encoders, a design guide for membrane products and keypads and contact information for all knitter-switch distributors.

On display at electronica 2008 will be a new series of rotary coded switches designed for a variety of control and automation system applications. The 60000 Series switches are available in standard, surface-mount or right-angle versions and provide the users with a good, quality switch “feel”. Four different codings are offered – BCD, BCD inverse, hexadecimal and hexadecimal inverse. They measure just 10 x 10mm with a body height of 6.5mm and are designed to be lead-free reflow solderable at up to 260ºC for a maximum of 5s. The switches will interest those manufacturers of industrial control and automation systems, building automation products and telecommunication systems.

Also on show for the first time will be the MAV Series of vandal-proof pushbutton switches. Offering protection up to IP67, MAV switches are made using stainless steel or chromium plated brass and suit outdoor applications and harsh industrial environments. Users can specify NO, NC and SPDT contacts with latching and momentary function and the switches can also be supplied with LED illumination as an option.

Along with the MAV Series, knitter-switch will also be introducing a market first - a rubber key which can be rapidly customised to suit a user’s exact application. The YSK Series offers a large range of electrical and mechanical features but without the high tooling costs normally associated with standard tactile switches. According to the company, customers can select from more than a million feature combinations. Contact ratings up to 300mA/12VDC are possible and operating temperature range is –40 up to +85ºC.

The company can now offer designers a new type of man-machine interface by combining the key features of membrane and rubber keypads into a single, highly customisable, dual technology keypad. Membrane keypads offer very economic, small size, multi-layered, moisture sealed, self-adhesive mounting switching solutions which may be printed with graphics to match the end product. Rubber keypads have the advantages of better tactile “feel”, greater choice of form (shape and size of button or actuator), the ability to be backlit and are lower cost than membrane keypads.

This form of switching can be used economically for just a single switch through to a multi-key keypad. The surface of the final keypad may be flat or contoured and will sit on the end equipment like a label, minimising assembly time and cost. knitter-switch dual technology keypads save space, are very thin and have the facility to be backlit. With excellent tactile response for positive switching the individual keys may be domed and if required polyurethane coated for a robust finish which also protects any printed legends against wear. The complete keypad can be sealed to IP65 and is very simple to connect via a flexi-tail PCB terminated with the customer’s choice of male or female connector.

Typical applications for knitter-switch dual technology keypads include security access systems, environmental controls, industrial and factory equipment, medical systems and home automation.

knitter-switch will die electronic nutzen um viele neue Produkte vorzustellen.  Als Aussteller auf dieser größten Elektronik Messe der Welt wird knitter-switch den Messebesuchern als ersten den neuen Katalog 2009 vorstellen. So findet sich z.B. neben einem neuen Kapitel über encoder nun auch ein Design-guide für Folientastaturen und Silikonschaltmatten im Katalog. Selbstverständlich finden Sie auch alle aktuellen Adressen der Distributoren.

Einer der gezeigten Schwerpunkte ist die neue Produktreihe von Drehcodier-Schaltern für verschiedenste Anwendungen in Industriesteuerungen und Automatisierungssystemen. Die neue 60000 Serie stellt eine Vielzahl von Bauformen und Codierungen zur Auswahl und ist mit oder ohne Betätigungsachse verfügbar. Sie ist sowohl als Standardausführung als auch als SMD-Version oder mit horizontal abgewinkelten PC-Anschlüssen lieferbar. Hervorzuheben ist das angenehme, hochwertige „Schaltgefühl“. Vier verschiedene Kodierungen stehen zur Auswahl: BCD, BCD invers, Hexadezimal und Hexadezimal invers.

Auf der Messe zum ersten Mal zu sehen sein werden die neuen vandalensicheren Drucktaster. Die Taster sind besonders widerstandfähig gegen Schläge und Manipulationen und haben einem Schutzgrad bis IP67. Mit einem Gehäuse aus Edelstahl oder verchromtem Messing sind sie für Außenanwendungen wie Klingeltableaus oder auch für erschwerte Einsatzbedingungen geeignet. Die Schalter sind mit unterschiedlichen Schaltfunktionen und mit oder ohne LED Beleuchtung nutzbar.

Ebenfalls eine Neuvorstellung auf der Messe ist die neue YSK Serie. Ein Silikon-Einzeltaster für SMT der für die Kundenapplikation innerhalb weniger Tage angepasst werden kann. Dabei bietet er eine breite Palette an Ausprägungen ohne daß Werkzeugkosten anfallen. Die Belastbarkeit liegt bei bis zu 300 mA/12 VDC und die zulässige Betriebstemperatur zwischen -40 und +85 C.

Knitter-switch bietet nun einen völlig neuen Typ von Tastaturen an: Die Kombination der positiven Kerneigenschaften von Folientastaturen und Silikonschaltmatten zu einer Tastatur - auch hier individuell auf den Kunden zugeschnitten.
Folientasturen ermöglichen  sehr ökonomische, im Verhältnis kleine, und trotzdem mehrschichtige Schaltlösungen, die dabei hervorragend gegen Feuchtigkeit geschützt und einfach - da  selbsthaftend -  anbringbar sind. Darüber hinaus bieten sie vielfältige grafische Möglichkeiten. Silikonschaltmatten dagegen bringen die bessere Haptik, das bessere taktile „Schaltgefühl“, eine größere Formenvielfalt (in Form und Größe des Betätigers), sowie die Möglichkeit der Beleuchtung mit.

Knitter-switch ist einer der wenigen Hersteller, der in der Lage ist, die Vorteile der beiden Technologien zu vereinen. Diese Form von Schaltlösung kann von einen Schaltvorgang bis zu einer Mulit-Funktionslösung genutzt werden. Die Oberfläche kann dabei flach oder erhaben sein und kann auf der Anwendung aufgebracht werden wie ein “Aufkleber”, was die Bestückungszeit und damit die Kosten minimiert. Dabei sparen sie Platz, sind sehr dünn und können von hinten beleuchtet werden. Das angenehme Schaltgefühl durch erhabene Schaltlösungen ist auch mit Beschichtungen wie z.B. Polyrethan umsetzbar, um die Oberfläche robuster zu machen und z.B. den. Aufdruck vor Abnutzung zu schützen. Die gesamte Tastatur kann mit einem IP 65 Standard versiegelt werden.

knitter-switch profitera du Salon Electronica 2008 pour s’imposer comme un des fabricants « leader de l’industrie en commutation miniature ». A cette occasion knitter-switch, exposant régulier à la plus Grande Foire de l’Electronique mondiale, présentera ses dernières nouveautés.

Le catalogue 2009 contient un grand nombre de nouveaux produits : une nouvelle partie dédiée aux  encodeurs, un guide design concernant les  claviers à membrane  et les claviers élastomère ainsi que des informations sur les différents contacts de la distribution.

Dans la vitrine d’exposition du stand knitter-switch, sera exposée une nouvelle série de Dip-rotatifs adaptés pour différentes applications pour le contrôle et l’automation. La série de commutateurs 60000 est disponible en version standard, cms et montage vertical  avec une bonne qualité « tactile ». Quatre codifications sont proposées : BCD ; BCD inverse ; hexadécimale et hexadécimale inverse. Les dimensions sont 10 x 10 mm avec une hauteur  de 6,5mm, sans plomb, soudables à la vague jusqu’à 260°C en 5 secondes maximum. Ces commutateurs peuvent intéresser les fabricants de systèmes industriels de contrôle et automation, de matériel de construction automatique  et de systèmes de télécommunication.

Pour la première fois, knitter-switch présentera une série d’inverseurs à bouton-poussoir anti-vandalisme MAV. Les inverseurs MAV offrent une protection étanche IP 67, sont en acier inoxydable ou chromé plaqué laiton, et sont adaptés  pour des applications extérieures dans des conditions rudes et applications industrielles. L’utilisateur peut choisir les contacts NO, NC ou SPDT  avec fonction de verrouillage ou d’utilisation momentanée. Les inverseurs sont aussi fournis avec une illumination LED  en option.

En complément de la série MAV, knitter-switch présentera une touche élastomère qui peut être rapidement adaptée aux exigences spécifiques de chaque application. La série YSK offre une grande variété de fonctions électriques et mécaniques, avec un coût d’outillages peu élevé, contrairement aux tact-switches standards. Les clients peuvent choisir entre plus d’un million de  combinaisons. Le pouvoir de coupure peut aller jusqu’à 300mA/12VDC avec une température opérationnelle entre -40° C et + 85°C.

Knitter-switch développe et fabrique des claviers à membrane  et des claviers élastomère pour des Sociétés de  plus ou moins grande importance partout dans le monde. Une  partie du stand sera dédiée à ces produits uniques. Knitter-switch propose aux développeurs un nouveau type d’interface homme-machine en combinant les caractéristiques clés des claviers à membrane et des claviers élastomère dans un seul produit.Très adaptable aux besoins du client  Le clavier à membrane offre une solution de montage du switch très économique, de petites dimensions, multicouches, étanche et auto-adhésive. Cette technologie permet également l’impression graphique afin de s’adapter visuellement au produit final. Les claviers élastomère ont l’avantage d’avoir une meilleure « sensation » tactile, et offrent plus de choix en ce qui concerne la forme et dimension du bouton ou de l’actuateur,  et la possibilité d’être  retroéclairés tout en étant moins chers que les claviers à membrane.

Cette forme de commutation peut être utilisée économiquement pour un seul switch et pour un clavier multitouches. La surface du clavier final peut être plat ou en relief et sera appliquée sur l’équipement comme une étiquette, en réduisant au maximum le temps et le coût de l’assemblage. Les claviers à double technologies de knitter-switch permettent  de minimiser l’espace, ils sont très fins et peuvent être rétroéclairés. Pour un touché tactile excellent, la touche individuelle peut être en dôme,  et si nécessaire, finie avec une  couche de polyuréthane pour protéger les inscriptions contre l’usure. Le clavier complet peut avoir une protection étanche IP 65, de plus,  il est très simple à connecter par une limande au PCB à l’aide d’un connecteur mâle ou femelle selon le choix du client.

Les applications appropriées pour un clavier à double technologies de knitter-switch sont les suivantes : les systèmes d’accès de sécurité, de contrôles de l’environnement,  les équipements industriels et d’usines, les appareils  médicaux et la domotique.
